Some people seek treatment for specific symptoms, illnesses or dysfunctions. Others seek treatment as preventative, or to enhance their current health and state of being. Manual osteopathy is a whole person, natural, hands-on approach to healthcare, administered through touch. It is guided by four distinct principles; structure and function are inter-related, the body is auto-regulatory, the rule of the artery is absolute and lastly, the body is a functional unit.

My name is Erica Hatch and many, many years ago, I graduated with a diploma in Recreation Therapy in anticipation of working with children and seniors to better their lives. I continued on in my pursuit of health by graduating with my degree in nursing. I have worked in a variety of areas within the nursing domains but my areas of expertise lie in critical care and emergent nursing.

I recognized that I have an ability and inherent need to assist others to heal, specifically applying a combination blend of Eastern and Western medicines. After years of debating family medicine versus naturopathic medicine as a second career, I discovered osteopathy through a personal injury of my own. My decision was made.

I combine strong intuitive skills, an inquisitive nature, and a thorough understanding of health sciences. I have successfully completed my 5 years of osteopathic training at the Canadian College of Osteopathy – Vancouver Campus. I successfully completed and defended my thesis investigating osteopathy and sleep in shift working nurses (2019).

I have lived in Airdrie for over 17 years now calling it home with my husband and my two not so little princesses.

When not studying or practicing, you can find me at one of my children’s activities, on a running trail, boxing, at the beach or planning my next Disney vacation!
